How to Start a Community Partnership with PID Uganda
Learn how to discuss a community partnership with PID Uganda, including local priorities, volunteer roles, practical support and transparent reporting.
Begin with community priorities
A useful partnership starts by listening to the people it aims to support. PID Uganda works alongside communities on education, health, livelihoods and climate resilience. Start a conversation about the need you have identified and how it relates to the organisation’s programmes.
Explain what you can contribute
Schools, community groups, businesses and individuals can propose skills, equipment, time or other practical support. Include your location, organisation where relevant, proposed contribution and expected timeframe. Discuss current needs before purchasing items or making arrangements.
Agree roles before activities begin
Ask who will coordinate the activity, what approvals are needed and how participants will be involved. Volunteer and internship opportunities should be confirmed directly with PID; submitting an enquiry does not guarantee a placement.
Plan respectful and transparent reporting
Agree how progress will be recorded and shared. Reports can describe activities, resources delivered and lessons learned. Any photographs or personal stories should be collected and used with appropriate consent and safeguarding arrangements.
What to include in your first message
- Your name, organisation and contact details.
- The community or location you would like to support.
- The need or programme you want to discuss.
- The skills, time or resources you can offer.
- Your proposed dates and any questions about coordination.
